Where’s Plaxo Pulse?

Later today (5/18/11), we will launch a redesigned Plaxo home page, with increased focus on address book updates and sync (Platinum Sync subscribers). You may also notice that the familiar stream of social status updates is no longer visible.

As previously announced, Plaxo has a renewed focus on the customer problems our company was founded to solve: Contacts scattered across multiple devices/services, resulting in outdated, unreliable contact info and inconsistent address books.

It’s not that we’re going anti-social; on the contrary, we are doing a better job of integrating social features, such as sharing contact info to Facebook and Facebook contact photo import, to provide far more value than that of a simple stream. For a limited time (until 6/15/11) you can access your stream’s archive on a separate page.

This change has no impact on how you receive contact info updates as that function remains key to our renewed mission. If you’d like assistance recovering any important info you shared in the past, contact customer support using: pulseshutdown@plaxo.com.

    Hi there;
    Hopefully it will be more customer friendly anymore as it was in a earlier stage. As paid subscriber since mid 2000. I really have been on the verge changing to XING. I’m upset that all adresses in group maliings are visible for every adressee not like the ancient tool. Now, I’m looking forward whether new Plaxo will fit my needs or not.
    Have a great weekend,
    Ed

    When I’m witing in one of my groups text shows up as long as I don’t leave. Returning to the groupe written content has been disappeard an now shows up under “everybody”. What about the sent info to the members by activating the email box and, is everybody able rading such content?

    Hooray! This is excellent news. Plaxo did address and calendar sync quite well, and it quickly became the best way to keep all my computers and mobile devices on the same page. I loved it.

    Sadly, not only was Pulse useless and unwanted, it also sucked resources away from the core business (you know, the reason we used it in the first place). I eventually felt I had to abandon Plaxo once it was clear no sync or address book updates were coming. I’m glad it’s back on its feet.

    Thanks for the support Christian. We too are thrilled to be back focused on Plaxo’s original value proposition of improving your address book everywhere you need it. :)
