Got Facebook Friends? Put a name with a face

In the past, the more contacts you added to your Plaxo address book, the more anonymous silhouettes popped up in your contacts list. And if your contacts didn’t manually update their profiles with images, it could get very difficult to put a name with a face – particularly for those of us with large address books or multiple contacts with the same name.
Prepare to see a lot more personalization in your Plaxo address book.
With the release of Facebook Photo Sync, for the first time, if you have Facebook friends in your contact list, Plaxo automatically imports their profile images.
Your Plaxo address book has always been a valuable complement to Facebook and other social networks as it unifies multiple contact lists, includes the deep contact info you need to stay in touch, and provides 2-way synchronization with the communication devices you use every day.
And now, Plaxo ensures you’ll always have a face to go along with your friends’ names.
To set up Facebook Photo Sync:

  1. Click here or logon to Plaxo, go to your Settings page, and click Facebook in the menu.

  2. Check the “Friends Profile Photos” option, then click “Save my Facebook Settings.”

  3. Accept permissions and Plaxo automatically imports profile images for all the Facebook friends in your address book.
• Once enabled, Plaxo regularly checks Facebook for new profile images and imports updates.

You have total control to accept or reject the auto-imported images and may choose whether or not to replace existing Plaxo profile pics with your friends’ Facebook photos.
Facebook Photo Sync is a dynamic, new feature that’s a direct result of feedback from valued Plaxo members like you, so keep your ideas coming.
At Plaxo, we are committed to developing the number-one connected address book. Thank you for being a Plaxo member and stay tuned in the coming months as we introduce more exciting features.

How does this work with people with two facebook accounts (one personal and one for business?). It appears that it only sync’s with one account.

I’m having trouble with some of my contacts because in Facebook they wrote their name in english, but I wrote their name in both English and Hebrew. I wish I could manualy connect contact cards with their facebook profile, so everything would be orginized, dispite the language barier.

Any thoughts? Is there a manual option that I’m missing?

When you connect your Plaxo account with Facebook, we don’t match the Facebook profile names instead we match the Facebook ID with our own internal Plaxo ID.

The complex Plaxo algorithm also makes sure to compare different contact field such as phone no, email address etc, so that our users have the right info..
